Heat Transfer Printing: Fast and Environmentally Friendly
Source:ZS Machinery Time:2016-08-16 Click:79 Times
Two advantages of transfer printing are quoted more than any others: speed and water use.
Speed
There is no screen to prepare and no plate to make. A design goes from file to printed fabric in minutes, and once the machine is running it works continuously. Sample approval that used to take days takes an afternoon.
Water and effluent
Transfer printing is a dry process. No paste, no wash-off, no drying and no effluent treatment. Compared with screen printing, water consumption is close to zero – which matters both for cost and for compliance with discharge rules.
Other practical benefits
Energy use is lower because there is no dryer. Waste is lower because there is no dye paste to mix and dispose of. And the printed fabric keeps a soft handle.
The trade-off is fabric: the process needs polyester or a high-polyester blend.
